More on the Post-and-rail Fencing

Some images - dating back to June 2011 - of the post-and-rail fencing posts that were the subject of my previous blog posting (Chapter 5). The fence had just been taken down, the posts therefore not as 'weathered' as they are now. They fascinated me then - their quiet visual strength, their colouring, texture, the patterns they make when stacked - and continue to inspire me now.

And this is how the installation looks now. I love the way these outdoor sculptures continually change as the seasons pass; here the point where the posts connect with the trunk now almost completely visible as the leaves have almost all dropped, the light and air bringing a completely different feel compared with the summer.

I look forward to seeing what the winter - snow - will bring ...
