Foldings

A new series, combining the form-finding process with a more intense focus on giving the material a louder voice, i.e. encouraging, working in unison with and rejoicing in the clay's inherent behaviours, including yielding to gravity under its own weight, cracking and shrinking in response to the drying effect of the ambient air. I'm also finding great pleasure in seeing the interactions between the foldings, the nestling into each other, some nudging each other, some embracing (hence, partly, the choice of 'Foldings), engendering myriad expressions and emotions:
