Another Piece Ready for Firing
Some images of another piece ready for firing. Using clay that fires white (as in the wedding gift piece in the previous post), this piece is about the shadows created by the whiteness of the clay:

Wedding Gift
Images of a commissioned wedding gift, taken from different angles and in different positions. The symbolic elements include a figure of eight (8 => two circles making the union of one) and gestures of reaching towards each other and of finding togetherness whilst remaining individual. The piece measures 54cm x 46cm x 18cm. Purposely not fixed permanently onto a base - i.e. no hole drilled in the bottom, piercing the form to insert a fixing to set the piece onto the base - so the piece can be positioned in a variety of ways (see post dated 04/01 'A Hanging Experiment'):
